How do i become a Christian? How Do I become a Christian? "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God, and not the result of works, to put a stop to all boasting" Ephesians 2:8-9 You can become a Christian by opening the door of your heart and your life for Christ to come in. For that to happen, you need to understand that: God loves us "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but will have eternal life" (John 3:16) We are sinners "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God" (Romans 3:23) There is penalty for sin "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23) Christ has paid that penalty "But God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8) Salvation is a free gift "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name" Christ wants to be part of your life "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20) You desire to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and accept him in your heart "If you confess from your mouth that 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Roman 10:9) If you believe this, you can pray a simple prayer from your heart, by yourself, using your own words, as there is no special formula. If you are not sure how or what to pray, here is a prayer of salvation you can pray: "Father, I recognize that I have sinned. I have done so many things that are not pleasing to you. I am sorry and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you sent your Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to save me. I believe He died, was buried, and on the third day he rose from the dead. I ask you today to take control of my life as I give it to you. Help me live everyday in a manner that is pleasing to you. I love you Lord. I thank you for wiping away all my sins and making me white as snow. Thank you for giving me everlasting life. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen." If you have prayed this prayer today with true conviction in your heart, you are now a follower of Jesus, whether you "feel" different or not, according to the Scriptures: "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9) Now what?
